A reasonable debate

Someone has written to say they disagree with me and that
we might have a debate or something of the kind. This was in
response to a couple of 'anti American' posts of mine. But the
only problem with that is that debates of that nature generally
serve no usefull pupose. Besides , I was not trying to make a
point but simply reacting to the quite large number of right
wing blogs both political and religious.
I am not one of those people who try to see both sides of the
argument. It may seem to many that that is the reasonable
thing to do. But I don't belive in being reasonable either. I have
a simple definition of 'the reasonable man'. He's the one with
a full belly. And as for 'both sides of the question' , well I don't
think there is much point in debating with someone who , for
instance , believes that children should be brainwashed and
lied to about some of the most fundamental questions of life.
I don't like muslims. I think they are wrong. I think what they
do and say is evil. When they teach very young children to
kneel and prostrate themselves to a non existent being it makes
me angry. Like catholics and all other such religions they teach
these lies very early in life as they know that if they leave it
untill the child is an adult then that same adult will more often
than not reject what they say.
A lot of people would say that this is a matter of religious
belief however this is wrong as belief has simply nothing to
do with it. It is generally assumed that people teach children
religion because they belive in it but this is just an assumption.
The reason children are taught religion from such an early
age is because the ones doing it want to and have the power to
do it. Why they want to is as varied as all the mental perversions
that the human mind is capably of.
I don't know if the person who replied to my post is religious
or not. I'm just making a general point about debating or rather
the futility of debating and the question of reasonableness.
Think on this for a moment.
We live in a word where it is illegal to have sex with a child but
it is not only legal but something of a special socially approved
right bordering on a duty to tell a child to worship God and if
they refuse then they will be lost and rejected for an eternity.
Just think of all those young innocent children who every day
are told to bow down and face east or west , who are told this
day after day , week after week , month after month. They are
made to recite over and over things, the consequences of which
they cannot understand. And why are they taught like this?.
Ever parent who does this is aware of the fact that if they
were living in a different culture they would belive something
quite different and be teaching their child something different.
This is not my opinion. This is just a simple fact. Every catholic
knows that if they had been reared as a muslim in a muslim
country they would now be teaching their kids the muslim religion.
And every muslim knows that the fact they are teaching their
children to be muslims is for the most part to do with an accident
of geography. Everyone knows this.
Mormons belive that there are people on mars who ride in
western type coaches. They don't tell you that when they first
come to knock at your door but if you stay with the programme
in time they tell you this and many other strange things.
Some belive that God is an astronaut.

I don't want to talk with these people. I don't want to know them.
I wish they would do humanity a favour and commit collective
suicide. But they won't. And this is the point I am trying to make.
People belive what they want. The truth has nothing to do with it.
Morality has nothing to do with it. Right and wrong has nothing
to do with it. I agree with much that was said in response to my
previous posts. There are of course evil people who do evil deeds
but that is not what I was on about.
So what of America?.
It has a long history of attacking the wrong people for the wrong
reason and the current war is no exception. And young American
men are it seem's encouraged to belive that it is their patriotic
duty to go along with this. They die fighting an enemy that their
government helped to create in the first place. It's not the first
time that this has happened. The people who carried out 9/11
are in a very real sense not important. They are going nowhere.
There are some who belive that the 'terrorist' is going to take
over the world , that the muslim nations will rise up and destroy
the west. I can understand why they feel this way but they
are mistaken. Muslim countries are poor and one of the reasons
for this poverty is that they are muslim. There is no question
of them taking over the planet and if the truth be known
most 'muslims' don't want muslims to take over. And they will
not take over or destroy America. And for an American soldier
to go half way across the world to fight them and risk dying
because of 9/11 would be laughable it it was not so tragic.

The real and ever present enemies of America are to be found
on American soil. They make a fortune out of every war but are
never content. They want more and do all in their considerable
power to create war in order that they can get more. They are
the first to put their hands out for government money and they
do it over and over again. They are the first to play the patriotic
card and always walk away with a profit. And the American
soldier is fighting for them. There is no logical reason to belive
that they are fighting for America. The fact that many belive that
they are doing so only proves that many belive this and does not
prove the fact itself.
But as I have said , people will belive what they want to. Objective
reality rarely has anything to do with it. .........and while some young
American lies on the road with his head leaking blood in some far
away country there will be other Americans who will be looking
to the profit line.
War is business in the US. It rarely has anything to do with
protecting America and has everything to do with making rich
people a lot richer........but you will belive whatever you belive.

Time is reasonably important, but life is much more important. Muslims are here to stay - there is no way or political will to convince them otherwise.
Life is unsettling but we're going to have to live in the present.
